Milton "Dale" Gillam, age 73, of Tipton, died January 27, 2011 at Tipton Hospital in Tipton following a brief illness. He was born January 25, 1938 in Elwood, Indiana. He was a machine repairman at Ex-Cello Corporation (Textron) for 35 years from 1956 to 1991 when he retired. He was a 1956 graduate of Frankton High School. He married Leah Mae Shallenberger on September 15, 1961. He attended the Central Wesleyan Church in Elwood. He enjoyed taking his sons on fishing trips, and especially enjoyed building miniature John Deere Tractors. He started building miniature tractors at the age of 17 building a miniature Ford tractor.

Survivors include: 4 Sons – David (Debbie) Gillam of Tipton, Tim (Phyllis) Gillam of Avon, Steve (Angie) Gillam of Tipton, and Mike (Marie) Gillam of Springfield, PA; 3 Brothers – John (Frances) Gillam, Ralph (Bernice) Gillam, and Dan (Carolyn) Gillam all of Elwood; 8 Grandchildren – Andrew Gillam, Sam Gillam, Nicholas Gillam, Emma Gillam all of Avon, Makenzie Gillam and Malia Gillam both of Tipton, Noah Gillam and Estelle Gillam both of Springfield, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: Parents – Ora and Martha (McQuitty) Gillam; Wife who died August 3, 2010 – Leah Mae (Shallenberger) Gillam; and Brother – Don and wife Eunice Gillam.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Matt Miller of the Central Wesleyan Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 PM Monday, January 31, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Elwood City Cemetery.
