Obituary

Michael Joe "Mike" Trimble , age 86 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at his home after a long, fulfilling life.  He was born August 31, 1939 in Elwood, the son of Hershel A. and Maxine B. (Langston) Trimble.  Mike was a 1957 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood, and he was active in 4-H from an early age and throughout his life.  Mike was well-known in the community as a lifelong grain and cattle farmer.  He married Caralyn "Faith" Trimble on February 7, 1981, and they shared 45 years of marriage together.

Mike was a longtime member of the Curtisville Christian Church where he formerly served as a Deacon and member of the church board.  Antique tractor shows and farming shows were some of his favorite pastimes.  Mike enjoyed the company of many local farmers and their spouses known as the "Farm Club" for many years - sharing stories, dinners, and fellowship.  He and Faith enjoyed vacationing in Florida during winter months for many years and connecting with family and friends.  Mike was a member of the Indiana Heifers Association and the Indiana Farm Bureau.  He never knew a stranger and was friendly to everyone he met, always taking time to share his dry sense of humor.  More than anything, Mike cherished the time he spent with his family.  His legacy will never be forgotten.

Mike's beloved family includes his wife, Faith Trimble of Elwood; 4 daughters, Cheryl Guyer of Sharpsville, Julia (Jeff) Miller of Cadiz, Angela Gross of St. Petersburg, FL, and Carey Gross of Fishers; brother, Keith (Betty) Trimble of Elwood; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beth Wright; and infant brother, Adrian Trimble.

A funeral service celebrating Mike's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Gary Cornwell of Curtisville Christian Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am to 12 pm prior to the funeral on Tuesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Curtisville Christian Church or the Elwood Animal Shelter.  Online condolences and memories may be shared with the Trimble family at copherfeslermay.com.
