Michael L. Nash, age 65 of Alexandria, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born June 8, 1949 in Warren, OH, the son of Leroy Nash, Jr. and Barbara (Alexander) Nash. Mike worked in production at Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo for 13 years, and retired on disability in November of 1985 due to health issues. He also formerly worked in the Madison County Police Reserves and Civil Defense. He was a 1967 graduate of Frankton High School, and formerly attended the Baptist and Christian churches. He married Margaret Mae "Peggy" Conley on September 28, 1968. Mike was formerly active in bowling and golfing; loved woodworking; enjoyed fishing and mowing; and was an avid car enthusiast. He was also a member of the U.A.W. #685 in Kokomo. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and healthcare providers who became very close to him.
Mike's family includes wife of over 46 years, Margaret "Peggy" Nash of Alexandria; son, Michael J. (wife Beverly) Nash of Manito, IL; beloved grandson, Nathan Nash of Manito, IL; mother-in-law, Virginia Conley of New Castle; 2 sisters, Judy Bragg and Patricia Nash both of Elwood; and several special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Nash; and father-in-law, Junior Conley.
Cremation will take place, and a Life Celebration Service will be scheduled in June at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or Riley Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
