Obituary

Melvin "Junior" Tinch, age 61 of Anderson, passed away July 6, 2015 at his residence following a long battle with cancer. He was born on February 28, 1954 in Livingston, TN, the son of Willie Melvin Tinch and Mattie (Hammock) Knopp. He was a mechanic and owned and operated J.R. Small Engine Repair in Anderson for nearly 20 years, and retired in 2014 after declining health. Junior married Rosa Lee Mills on December 28, 2008. He enjoyed going to the casino, attending car shows, and sitting on his porch. He also liked working on cars, fixing things, and camping. Junior was a simple man who everyone liked.

Junior's family includes 4 siblings, Willie Ray (wife Claudean) Tinch of Chesterfield, Bonnie (husband James) Dixon of Livingston, TN., Betty Eldridge of Rickman, TN., and Frances (husband Kenny) Woods of Anderson; several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Donnie (wife April) McMahan of Anderson; 3 step-children, David Conway, Sarah Dick, and Tracy Krieg; 6 step-grandchildren; and beloved cat, "Sammy". He was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Rosa Lee Tinch who died in 2012; and brother, RC Tinch.

Funeral services celebrating Junior's life will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral home in Elwood with Chaplain Mark Coffman officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2015 prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
