Mary Frances "Fran" Tulowitzky , age 86 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Elwood Health & Living in Elwood following a long life. She was born August 4, 1937 in Elwood, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Hobbs) Hardebeck. Fran was raised in St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph School. Fran married William "Bill" Tulowitzky in 1991, and they shared 12 years of marriage before his passing in 2003. She worked more than 20 years in housekeeping at Parkview Nursing Home (Elwood Health & Living) in Elwood before retiring in 2016. Fran truly had a servant's heart and enjoyed working and caring for others. More than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren and all her family.
Fran's family includes 3 children, Butch (Rhoda) Groover of Tipton, Don (Bev) Groover of Elwood, and Mary (Mike) Harris of Elwood; 2 sisters, Nancy (Terry) Downey of Geneva and Barbara Rivers of Elwood; 8 grandchildren, Morgan (Evan) Smith, Tom Wilburn, Clint Wilburn, Dustin (Laura) Groover, Jamie (Robert) VanKirk, Kylie (Ryan) McGinnis, Mike (Nicole) Harris, and Mallory (Cam) Harney; 18 great-grandchildren, Keliah, Kaydence, Ethan, Roman, Alexis, Taylan, Craig, Luke, Dacie, Reagan, Jackson, Lincoln, Kennedy, Makayla, Addison, Lukas, Alayna, and Finley; and several nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William "Bill" Tulowitzky in 2003; son, Larry Roller; 4 siblings, Margaret McMahan, Norma Hardebeck, Joe Hardebeck, and David Hardebeck; and grandson, Clint Groover.
A funeral service celebrating Fran's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Scott Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilkins Cemetery in Tipton County. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM on Thursday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
