Obituary

Martin Theodore Wire, age 57 of Frankton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family. He was born October 21, 1960 in Elwood, the son of Don and Rita (Robbins) Wire. Martin worked as a wire and splicer technician at AT&T in Marion for 25 years, and had just retired in 2018 due to health issues. Martin was a 1979 graduate of Elwood Community High School. He had a strong faith in God, and was a devoted member of Wesley Free Methodist Church in Anderson where he enjoyed helping with youth activities. Martin was formerly active at the Elwood YMCA, and he was an avid exercise and cycling enthusiast. He was a member of the National Rifle Associaion. Martin enjoyed music, and his favorite bands were "Rush" and "TSO". He also enjoyed gardening, crafting, and was known for being able to fix anything. When his children were younger, he helped as a coach for their soccer and softball teams. He was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Frankton Eagles. More than anything, Martin was devoted to his family, and he was lovingly referred to as "Pabaw" by his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospital Anderson (5 East) and the Hospice care team for the exceptional care they provided for Martin.
