Obituary

Marlo J. Milligan, age 76, of Elwood, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Aperion Care in Marion after a brief illness. Born on February 16, 1950, in Peru, she was the daughter of James E. and Maxine M. (Foster) Faulkner. Marlo graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in 1968, having spent her early years at Wendell Willkie High School and working at her father’s beloved ice cream shop, the Tasty Freeze. A devoted Christian, Marlo was a faithful and active member of East Main Street Christian Church, where she joyfully served and found strength in her faith. On May 25, 1984, Marlo married her soulmate, James M. Milligan, and together they shared over two decades of loving marriage until his passing in 2006. Marlo found joy in simple pleasures—listening to music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, watching her favorite sitcoms, playing bingo, and enjoying her daily coffee. She also delighted in spoiling her cherished cat, Shadow. Above all, Marlo’s greatest blessing was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Marlo is survived by her daughter, Angie M. Arnold of Florida; son, Jimmy E. Wingate of Anderson; 4 grandchildren, James Walker of Missouri, Cyrstin Walker of Florida, Chelsey (Adam) Matolcsy of Jonesboro, and Elijah Parsons of Indianapolis; sister, Diana Stansberry; 4 half siblings, Shari, Lisa, Jeff, and Chris; 3 great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Dre, and Walker; and many nieces and nephews. Marlo is preceded in death by her parents, James and Maxine Faulkner; husband, James M. Milligan; son, Kurt J. Arnold; and sister, Linda Warner.

A funeral service celebrating Marlo’s life and faith will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of Heritage Christian Church in Elwood. Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to her service on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
