Mark Richard Laughlin, age 58 of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2026 while camping at Pike’s Peak National Forest in Colorado – one of his favorite activities and places. He was born January 10, 1968 in Brookville, Pennsylvania, the son of Rich and Cheryl Laughlin. Mark graduated from Union High School in Rimersburg, PA in 1986, where he played football and basketball. He continued his love of football by playing at Anderson University where he graduated in 1991 with a degree in Physical Education. Mark spent over 30 years in the cultured marble industry. He owned and operated Marble House, Inc. in Indianapolis for several years before moving the business to Elwood. He ended his career at MPL Corporation in Fairland, Indiana.

Mark loved coaching. He had a passion for the game, but even more, he loved the kids and being part of their lives. He helped coach varsity football at Lapel High School alongside Woody Fields for several years. Coaching gave Mark another way to encourage, teach, and make a difference in the lives of young people. One of the things that meant the most to Mark was being able to coach both of his girls at different times throughout their softball careers. He got to share something he loved with the two people he loved the most. Those moments on the field, whether he was coaching, teaching, cheering from the sidelines, or simply being their dad, were memories he treasured.

Mark was an active member of Northview Church in Anderson, where his faith became the cornerstone of his life. He was recently baptized, a decision that was deeply meaningful to him. His faith gave him hope, strength, and peace. It became something he wanted to carry with him and share with all those around him. Mark’s memory and legacy will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Mark is survived by his four daughters, Taylor (Andrew) Lawrence of Spring Creek, PA, Hannah Laughlin of Anderson, Kourtney (Kenny) Krabbe of Lapel, and Konnor Kleinbub (Darrick Mills) of Lapel; 8 grandchildren, Navianna Lawrence, Dehlila Kleinbub, Kayleigh Krabbe, Shy’vel Lawrence, Ella Krabbe, Ethan Krabbe, Jaxon Mills, and Langston Lawrence; another grandchild on the way; sister, Ciss (Joe) Pifer of Corry, Pennsylvania; special uncle, Bill (Rita) Hawk of Carthage; special cousin, Mike (Pam) Pryor of Anderson; and his beloved dog, Sadie. Mark was preceded in death by both of his parents.
