Obituary

Mark Alan Hesselman, Sr., age 59 of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the University Of Louisville Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born July 30, 1959 in Kokomo, the son of Kenneth George and Shirley Ann (Shanks) Hesselman.  Mark worked as an auto body mechanic for nearly all of his life, and most recently worked at Joe Brown Auto Body Repair.  He enjoyed wood working, and was known for being very mechanically inclined.  Mark loved to work on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and his 1967 Cutlass.  He was known to be able to fix anything on a vehicle.  Mark was devoted to his family and always did whatever was needed to care for his family.  More than anything, he enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his children and grandchildren.

Mark's family includes 4 children, Priscilla Hesselman (John Idlewine) of Alexandria, Sarah Hesselman of Alexandria, Mark A. Hesselman, Jr. of Kentucky, and Jeremy Hesselman of Plainfield; 2 brothers, Dennis (Debbie) Hesselman of Kokomo, and Tim (wife Michelle) Hesselman of Kansas; sister, Cathy Hesselman of Kansas; 7 grandchildren, Drake Clark, Darek Clark, Jessalynn Idlewine, Jannalee Idlewine, Jon Hesselman, Chloe, Hesselman, and Josh Hesselman; and several nieces and nephews.  Also, the family would like to thank his close friends, Benny Courtney and Joe Brown who helped care for Mark.  Mark was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Arthur Hesselman.

Cremation was chosen, and there will be no formal services at this time.  Copher-Fesler-May is honored to handle Mark's cremation arrangements.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to help offset unexpected funeral expenses.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
