Obituary

Marjorie Jen (Clouser) Spitzmesser, age 90 of Anderson, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a long, well-lived life. She was born Nov. 13, 1924 in Tipton County, the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Hight) Heflin. Marjorie retired in 1983 from Delco Remy in Anderson where she worked in production for 28 years. She was a 1942 graduate of Elwood High School, and then married Ray Clouser on May 31, 1942. She formerly served as a Girl Scout Leader; was a former member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood; and member of the U.A.W. #662 in Anderson. She enjoyed crocheting and reading cookbooks. Following Ray's passing in 1983, she married Noel K. Spitzmesser on Nov. 28, 1986 and they shared 28 years of marriage together. Marjorie will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by husband, Noel Spitzmesser of Anderson; 4 children, Sue (Jim) Collins of Elwood, Jenny Jolliff of Alexandria, Michael (Marna) Clouser of Claypool, and Joseph (Le Ann) Clouser of Elwood; 3 step-children, Howard Spitzmesser, Janet Spitzmesser, and Julia Biddle all of Anderson; 7 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ray Clouser; 4 brothers, Raymond Heflin, James Heflin, John Heflin, and Ernest Heflin; sister, Maxine Clouser; and grandson, Bodine Chesney.

Funeral services celebrating Marjorie's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with her great-grandsons, Jake Bogard, Luke Bogard, and Cody Bogard officiating. Entombment will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 PM on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
