Obituary

Marion M. Parsons, age 70 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at her residence following a sudden illness.  She was born February 10, 1948 in Elwood, the daughter of Frank E. and Arlean E. "Frey" Parsons.  She was a 1966 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and later attended beauty school to become a hairdresser.  Marion was a lifelong hairdresser in Elwood beginning with a shop located at her home in 1968.  Currently, she was still working as a hairdresser at the Country Carousel shop in Elwood.  She was a formerly an active member of Solid Rock Ministries in Elwood until the church closed, and was currently attending Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Elwood.  Marion formerly enjoyed quilting very much.  She was also an avid lover of dogs and had many special dogs throughout her life.  Marion was especially dedicated to all her clients working as a hairdresser, and she truly enjoyed their company.  She was also very close to both her parents throughout her life and cared for them for many years.  More than anything, Marion was known to be a very independent woman.

Marion's family includes special cousins, Martha Jean (husband Walt) Stiner of Elwood, Janet Haberle of Nazareth, PA, Terrie (husband Doug) Collins of Gas City, Debra (husband Kevin) Webb of Alexandria, Jody (husband John) Zirkle of Fairmount, Penny Bistenie of Long Island, NY, Larry (wife Judy) Parsons of Mooresville, and several other cousins.  Marion was preceded in death by her parents and a special family member, Phil Haberle.

A funeral service celebrating Marion's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Marion's former pastor, Jeff Hail, officiating.  Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery next to her parents.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, October 15, 2018 prior to the funeral service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.   Memorial contributions are suggested to Morrisett Center Food Pantry through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
