Marilyn L. Crull, age 81 of Elwood, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following a brief illness. She was born May 15, 1930 in Elwood, the daughter of Bernice B. and Georgia (Lynch) Lee. She was a Homemaker most of her life, and formerly worked at the Lords clothing store in Elwood and performed care for the elderly. She married Leon W. "Shorty" Crull on February 18, 1948. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood. She was also a member of the Alexandria Eagles Lodge. Marilyn enjoyed dancing, dining out, cooking, working crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, and watching her favorite game show - Wheel of Fortune. She also loved spending time with her family – especially her granddaughter and great-granddaughter.
Survivors include son, Terry L. (Jennie) Crull of Frankton; daughter, Cheryl L. Ford (companion Kevin Bauer) of Elwood; granddaughter, Melanie (J.C.) Wright of Elwood; great-granddaughter, Jordyn Wright of Elwood; sister, Patty (Randy) Anderson of Noblesville; special friend, Bob Hughes of Frankton; 6 in-laws, Ruby Crull, Jane Manghelli, Bill (Ann) Crull, Ivan (Betty) Crull, Francis Crull, and Eva Hollowell; and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Leon W. "Shorty" Crull who died in 1996; and brother, Billy Edward Lee.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Jim Nickles of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Cook Cemetery at New Lancaster – west of Elwood. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral on Wednesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent Mercy Hospital Foundation or Community Parkview Care Center Activity Fund through the funeral home.
