Obituary

Marilou Cooper, age 79 of rural Elwood in Tipton County, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at I.U. Health / Tipton Hospital in Tipton following a very brief illness.  She was born on November 21, 1937 in Anderson, the daughter of Colby Hugh and Martha "Jane" (Clark) Cooper.  Marilou was a 1955 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood.  She loved animals and worked for several years assisting local farmers with feeding livestock on several local farms, which she enjoyed very much.  She enjoyed reading the Bible every day, and was an avid sports fan – watching all kinds of sports and games on television.  Marilou also enjoyed spending time caring for her yard and rural property; collecting dolls of many kinds; and especially looked forward to attending numerous local festivals and fairs every year.

Marilou's family includes her brother James "Jim" (wife Pam) Cooper of Muncie and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Donald "Rex" Cooper in 2011 and Kenneth Ralph (and wife Julia) Cooper.

A graveside funeral service celebrating Marilou's life will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Frankton K. of P. - I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Pastor Bill Johnston of Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood, officiating.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace United Methodist Church where Marilou's mother attended for many years.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
