Obituary

Marie A. Kelsch , age 73 of Windfall passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Riverview Health Hospital in Noblesville following multiple health complications.  She was born July 8, 1946 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Wesley R. and Rita A. (Schieve) Russell.  She graduated in 1965 from St. Mary's Academy and later graduated from Practical Nursing College in Indianapolis.  Marie married George E. Kelsch on June 3, 1967, and they shared over 52 years of marriage together.  She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood for over 20 years.  She worked in both the surgery department and the specialty clinic until her retirement in 2008.  Marie was extremely devoted to her Catholic faith from childhood.  She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood and a current member of St. John's Catholic Church in Tipton.  She especially enjoyed gardening, and had received the designation of Master Gardener after many years.  Marie and George enjoyed spending winters in Florida for over 10 years, and Marie was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.  She enjoyed the company of several special dachshund dogs through the years, and she leaves behind her current dachshund, "Klink".  More than anything, Marie was devoted to her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, and she will be greatly missed.

Marie's family includes her husband, George E. Kelsch of Windfall; 2 daughters, Natasha (husband Rodney) Rulon of Arcadia, and Nicole (husband Jeff) Cole of Florida; 2 sisters, Nancy Ann (husband Danny) Chisham of Indianapolis, and Carolyn (husband Tom) Strader of Shelbyville; and 3 beloved grandchildren, Dianna Rulon, Kaleb Rulon, and Claire Rulon.  Marie was preceded in death by both her parents.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. John's Catholic Church in Tipton with Father Dennis Goth officiating.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Fishers.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 7 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood and will include a Rosary service at 6:00 pm and a Nursing Honor Guard service at 6:15 pm.  Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John's Catholic Church in Tipton.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
