Obituary

Maria E. Stinson, age 70 of Elwood, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness. She was born March 23, 1943 in Elwood the daughter of Charles E. and Vivian (Merida) Moore. Maria was a 1962 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. She was a devoted mother and a homemaker all of her life. She was a devout Christian and formerly attended the United Pentecostal Church in Elwood. Maria enjoyed crocheting, sewing and doing cross stitch. She especially loved spending time with her family and cooking delicious food for them. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley.

Maria is survived by daughter, Amanda (husband Charlie) Phillips of Elwood; 3 sons, John (wife Tammy) Stinson of Elwood, James Stinson of Texas, and Clarence Stinson of Elwood; 2 grandchildren, Breeanna Stinson and Trenton Stinson; and special friends, Barbara Huse of Alexandria and Judy Mitchell of Frankton. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Michael Anderson of the Cornerstone Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from Noon to 2:00 PM Friday, December 6, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
