Obituary

Margaret Ann Stiner, age 85 of Elwood, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 surrounded by her family at St. Vincent Hospice Center in Indianapolis after a brief illness. She was born December 24, 1926 in Elwood, the daughter of Edward Sylvester and Laura Ann (Tyree) Blubaugh. She was a Librarian at the Elwood Public Library for more than 22 years. Margaret was a 1944 graduate of Elwood High School and formerly attended St. Joseph School. She married Delone "Craig" Stiner on February 2, 1946. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood where she had been a Cantor and Lector. Margaret formerly worked at the Monticello Corporation and Hook's Drug Store both in Elwood. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a past recipient of the Elwood Pride Award. Margaret was a fan of I.U. Basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. She enjoyed reading and especially loved spending time with her family.

Margaret's family includes, 3 children, Gail (Fihe) and husband Jerry Wakeman of Noblesville, Jerome Craig Stiner of Ludlow, PA, and Lori L. Stiner ( Michael K. Nichols) both of Alexandria; a sister, Mary Kane of Carmel; 4 grandchildren, Jerome Craig Stiner-Brooks, Kristin L. (Jason) Fihe-Quimby, Aaron John (Dana) Stiner and Laura Ann Stiner; 4 great-grandchildren, Kayla Quimby, Tyler Quimby, Kayden Stiner, and Emerson Stiner; a special life-long friend, Claribell Groover of Elwood; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of more than 57 years, Delone "Craig" Stiner who died December 26, 2003; sister, Doris Yates; and 2 brothers, Eugene "Gene" Blubaugh and Edward "Jr." Blubaugh.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Church in Elwood with Father Dan Duff officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be 2 to 6 PM Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. A Rosary Service will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elwood Public Library or the St. Joseph Church Altar and Rosary Society through the funeral home.
