Obituary

Margaret A. "Margee" Hudson , age 78 of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at her home. Born on September 22, 1947 in Elwood, the daughter of Anthony "Tony" and Joanne (Williams) Prieshoff. Margee attended St. Joseph's Academy in Tipton through the 10th grade, and graduated from Frankton High School in 1965. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood, where she lived out her Catholic values through service and prayer. Margee began her career at Indiana Bell in Elwood and worked as a service technician for AT&T, dedicating over 24 years to her work before retiring in 1992.

On August 8, 1970, Margee married Larry Hudson, the love of her life. Together, they shared more than 55 years of faithful and loving marriage, setting an example of devotion and partnership for their children and grandchildren. Margee's greatest joy was her family; she was a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother who delighted in every milestone and memory. Her home was always open and filled with warmth, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness. Margee enjoyed family vacations, attending the Indianapolis 500, and especially cruising the "L" listening to her favorite music. She found beauty in collecting angels, palm trees, and butterflies—reminders of her gentle spirit and appreciation for God's creation. Margee was the family historian, always with her camera in hand at every gathering, preserving memories that are now treasured by all who loved her.

Above all, Margee lived her Catholic faith daily, offering kindness and love to everyone she met. She made everyone feel welcomed, included, and special, and her gentle words and radiant smile brought comfort and joy to family and friends alike. Her family finds peace knowing that Margee is reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, April, and that her legacy of faith and love will forever live on in those she leaves behind.

Margee is survived by her husband, Larry Hudson of Elwood; bonus daughters and extended family, Kelly McLane of Bradenton, FL, Terri Edgell of Elwood, and Lora (Jake) Dick of Elwood; 2 sisters, Kathy Fincher of Elwood, and Theresa Pichtel of Muncie; brother, Danny Prieshoff of Elwood; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Margee is preceded in death by her parents; beloved daughter, April Denise Michaela Hudson; sister, Anne Paro; 2 brothers-in-law, John Pichtel, and Jack Hudson; and mother-in-law, Mary Willodean Parker.

A public funeral mass honoring Margee's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood with Father Dennis Goth officiating.  Burial will follow the mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elwood.  A private family visitation will be held.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood is honored to handle Margee's arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
