Margaret A. "Peg" Humphrey, age 83 of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo following a brief illness. She was born on January 2, 1929 in Paris, Illinois the daughter of Percy and Ruth (Harrison) McMullen. She worked as an executive secretary at State Plating, Inc. in Elwood for over 25 years, and retired in 2002. She also formerly worked at General Cage Corporation in Elwood. She was a 1947 graduate of Paris High School in Paris, Illinois. Peg married Charles E. "Chuck" Humphrey on March 30, 1960. She was formerly active in the Elwood American Business Women's Association (ABWA). She enjoyed reading, cooking, homemaking, and especially spending time with her loving family.
Peg's family includes her son, Kevin (wife Kelly) Humphrey of Kokomo; brother, John (wife Helen) McMullen of Paris, IL; 2 sisters, Jean Simpson of Casey, IL and Mary Lou Adams of Paris, IL; 3 grandchildren, Haley Humphrey, Kelsey Humphrey, and Chuck (wife Kathryn) Blair; 4 great-grandchildren, Asher Blair, Anna Blair, Simon Blair, and Ben Blair; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 34 years, Charles E. "Chuck" Humphrey who died November 14, 1994; and son, Stephen D. Blair.
A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 5 PM on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, 415 S. Anderson Street, Elwood.
