Obituary

Lynn D. Mosbaugh , age 64 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following a brief battle with cancer.  He was born May 31, 1955 in Noblesville, the son of Richard and Marian (Carpenter) Mosbaugh.  He attended Walnut Grove schools as a child and later graduated in 1973 from Hamilton Heights High School.  Lynn married Dawn D. Loepke on June 3, 1995, and they shared nearly 25 years of marriage together.  He grew up in the Aroma United Methodist Church.  Lynn was a truck driver for over 22 years for R-G Transport Inc. in Elwood, and enjoyed his work.  Lynn also enjoyed farming seasonally and worked with Neese Farms and Henderson Farms.  He was an avid race fan and enjoyed attending races and he liked watching sports of all kinds.  He was especially passionate about flying and aviation, and his greatest joy was being a private pilot and flying his own plane.  He was a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association.  Lynn had a great sense of humor and hardly ever knew a stranger.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, and he will be greatly missed.

Lynn's family includes his wife, Dawn D. Mosbaugh of Elwood; 4 children, Heidi Puckett of Columbus, GA, Sarah (husband Jay) Robinson of Elwood, Justin (wife Julia) Moore of St. Charles, IL, and Jared (wife Stephanie) Moore of Truckee, CA; brother, Wayne Mosbaugh of Elwood; sister-in-law, Marie Mosbaugh of Sheridan; brothers-in-law, Chris (wife Claudia) Loepke of Gulport, MS and Don (wife Jill) Loepke of Cordova, TN; sister-in-law and special caregiver, Gloria (husband Alan) Burkhalter of Palm Coast, FL; 6 grandchildren, Zachery Mosbaugh, Korbin Puckett, Sydnie Mosbaugh, Chloe Paradais, Abigail Moore, and Oliver Moore; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Braeden Loepke; and his special companion, "Augie Doggie".

Lynn was preceded in death by both his parents; step-father, Joe Ebert; father and mother-in-law, Malcolm and Diana Loepke; brother, Richard "Dick" Mosbaugh; niece, Laura Savage; and nephew, Brett Mosbaugh.

A funeral service celebrating Lynn's life will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with family friend, Rich Leavell, officiating.  Cremation will follow the funeral service.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Wednesday prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Elwood Animal Shelter through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
