Obituary

Lisa Ann (Elsworth) Miller , age 62 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021 surrounded by her family at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born September 1, 1959 in Elwood, the daughter of Paul "Larry" and Mary K. (Graham) Elsworth.  Lisa was a 1977 graduate of Elwood Community High School.  She dedicated 43 years of her life to working at Mercy Hospital in Elwood, working first in the cafeteria and later in the business office, case management, and volunteer supervision.  Lisa was currently the revenue cycle operations manager at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital.  She loved her work, her hospital family, and assisting with many hospital soirees and events through the years.  Lisa was a longtime member of East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood.

In her free time, Lisa was an excellent cook, and especially enjoyed making custom cakes for weddings, anniversaries, and graduations for a host of loyal customers.  More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family and her grandson, Dean, who knew her as "Nana".  Lisa cherished the hours she spent with her grandson crafting and working puzzles together.  She will also be remembered for supporting and attending all types of family sports for her daughter, nieces, and nephews for many years.

Lisa's family legacy includes her daughter, Danielle (husband Scott) Biedermann of Elwood; brother, Dwain (wife Shirley) Elsworth of Elwood; sister, Paulette (wife Debbie) Elsworth of Indianapolis; beloved grandson, Dean Michael Biedermann; special nieces and nephews, Melissa (husband Ben) Allums (and their children, Parker and Bailey), Ryan (wife Meghan) Curtis, Derrick Elsworth (and his children, Tempi and Alice), and Jacob Elsworth (and his children, Mila and Legend).  Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Paul "Larry" Elsworth and Mary K. Michael; step-father, Forest W. "Brownie" Michael; and sister, Debra Kay Curtis.

A funeral service celebrating Lisa's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Chaplain Debbie Harmon of St. Vincent Mercy Hospital officiating.  Cremation will follow the service, and burial of her ashes will take place in Sunset Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm prior to the funeral on Saturday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Health precautions for the health and safety of the family and visitors are appreciated.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the St. Vincent Mercy Hospital Foundation through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
