Lisa A. Coots, age 56 of Elwood, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at her residence in Elwood after an extended illness. She was born May 10, 1957 in Elwood, Indiana, the daughter of James Fettig and Elpha (Phifer) Tomlinson. Lisa formerly worked as a secretary for Chuck Zink's State Farm Insurance Agency in Elwood. She also formerly worked at Red Gold in Orestes. She collected Wizard of Oz memorabilia and was an avid animal lover. One of Lisa's greatest joys was spending time with her family.

Her family includes husband of 20 years, Phil Coots of Elwood; 3 children, Stephen Fettig of Las Vegas, NV, Ashley Coots of Tipton, and Mitchell Coots of Elwood; 3 brothers, Steven Fettig of Elwood, Ed Fettig of Elwood, and Ronald Moon of Patterson, LA; sister, Debra (Moon) Adger of Pasadena, TX; 3 grandchildren, Angelina Uhrlaub and Kylie Uhrlaub of Tipton, and Monica Coots of Elwood; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Brock Fettig of Elwood; and special niece, Tara Fettig of Elwood; and beloved cat, "Angel". Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; and an aunt, Martha Skorzelski.

A memorial service celebrating Lisa's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of the East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the funeral home.
