Obituary

Linda Sue Abbott, age 63 of Tipton and formerly of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her residence following a long, courageous battle with cancer.  She was born July 10, 1953 in Elwood, the daughter of James Sr. and Minnie (Justice) Roller.  Linda married the love of her life, Robert C. Abbott, on September 16, 1972, and they shared over 44 years of marriage together.  She was a homemaker all of her life, and truly enjoyed caring for her family.  She was known for giving all she had to her husband and family, and was a friend to everyone she met.  Linda formerly attended the Zion Chapel Church in Elwood.  She enjoyed crafts, fishing, traveling – especially to Tennessee, camping with her family, and crocheting.  She was also an excellent cook, and her family especially loved her homemade chicken and noodles.  Linda was an avid Elvis Presley fan, and also enjoyed listening to her husband play his guitar.  She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Linda's family and legacy includes her husband of 44 years, Robert C. Abbott of Tipton; 2 daughters, Kimie (husband Chuck) Bell of Tipton and Lee Ann Abbott (Fiancé Stewart Martz) both of Arizona; 5 siblings, Nancy Hobbs of Elwood, Jim Roller of Elwood, Brenda Buis of Peru, Sharon (husband Dan) Heller of Thorntown, and Ruth (husband Stan) House of Noblesville; 4 grandchildren, Meghan Yocum, Martin Yocum, Chris Bell, and Madelyn Bell; great-granddaughter, Lillian Yocum; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Roller; sister, Pam Roller; and an infant granddaughter.

A private memorial service will be held at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home with Chuck Bell officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date privately by the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Guardian Angel Hospice through the funeral home.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood has been entrusted with Linda's funeral arrangements.     Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
