Obituary

Lena F. Leeman , age 96 and a lifelong resident of rural Atlanta, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at her residence after a long, well-lived life.  She was born February 11, 1923 in Hamilton County, the daughter of William A. and Ocie (Nibarger) Jacobs.  Lena was a 1941 graduate of Frankton High School.  She married Robert E. Lena's surviving family includes 4 children, Michael (wife Christine) Leeman of Noblesville, Karen (husband Jon) Hunsberger of Bloomington, Kevin (wife Angela) Leeman of Conway, SC, and Brian (wife Robyn) Leeman of Atlanta; sister, Ruth (Jacobs) Boudreaux of California; 15 grandchildren, Rebecca Leeman, Renee Jackson, Robert Leeman, Natalie Jessee, Kimberly Jessee, Joshua Roberts, Jacob Leeman, Kristen McPhee, Seth Leeman, Heather Mayfield, Jonathan Hunsberger, Candace Hunsberger, Trevor Hunsberger, Travis Leeman, and Kalie Ferch; 41 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lena was preceded in death by both her parents; husband, Robert E. Leeman in 1970; 3 children, Robert Leeman, Jr., Joyce and husband Clyde Roberts, and Elaine and husband Dale Cain; brother, Albert Jacobs, Jr.; sister, Ocie (Jacobs) Leeman; two grandchildren, Amy (Leeman) Rittenhouse and Aaron Leeman; and a great-grandson, Adam Jackson.

A funeral service celebrating Lena's life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Brother Kip Payton of the Morgantown Church of the Firstborn, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Aroma Cemetery in rural Atlanta.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service on Saturday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  The family asks that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution make it to the Open Arms Food Pantry supporting the Aroma community.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
