Obituary

Lee E. Scholl , age 85 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville surrounded by his family after health complications.  He was born December 23, 1937 in Elwood, the son of Earl Clayton and Dortha Isabelle (Stafford) Scholl.  Lee attended Elwood schools with the class of 1955.  He married Candice A. "Candy" (Moore) Faucett in 1983, and they shared nearly 42 years of marriage together raising their large blended family.  Lee was a fork truck driver for 30 years at Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo and retired in 1996.

Lee has always been very artistic, and was proud to paint the panther on the original Wendell L. Willkie High School Gym.  He also enjoyed photography, woodworking, fishing, gardening, working in his yard, and gun collecting.  Lee was formerly a member of the Elwood Eagles Lodge and the Elwood Moose Lodge, and he formerly enjoyed bowling in leagues at Wells Lane for many years.  Lee also attended the Bethel Baptist Church near his home for several years ;.  More than anything, Lee loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Lee's family legacy includes his wife, Candice of Elwood; 9 children, Eddie (Gail) Scholl of Florida, Lisa (Al) Kannapel of Spencer, Lonny Scholl of Elwood; Christina (Mathew) DiGuilio of Indianapolis, Terressa (Chris) Murrphy of Saganaw, MI, Danny (Debbie) Faucett of Elwood, Tony Faucett of Elwood, Andrea (Garry) Swan of Elwood, and John (Sheri) Faucett of Elwood; brother, Joseph Clayton (Diane) Scholl of Elwood; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Lee was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Larry Eugene Scholl and Robert Scholl.

A funeral service celebrating Lee's life will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Chris Ruder of Elwood Church of God officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 pm prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Cremation will follow the services.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
