LeAnne Stansberry, age 55 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her residence. She was born December 17, 1958 in Elwood, the daughter of Jacob C. and Mary E. (Williams) Dial. LeAnne retired from Red Lobster in Anderson in 2004 where she was employed as a cook for over 14 years. She attended Elwood Community High School in the class of 1976, and formerly attended the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Elwood. LeAnne enjoyed fishing, crocheting, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her family includes her mother, Mary E. Dial of Elwood; 5 children, Jacob Stansberry of Elwood, Jackie (husband Jamie) Cole of Elwood, Ronald (wife Tylee) Stansberry of Elwood, Justin Stansberry of Elwood, and Jerod Stansberry of Elwood; sister, Mary Elizabeth Dial of Elwood; brother, John Dial of Elwood; 13 grandchildren; long-time companion, Randy "Joe" Lane of Elwood; 3 nieces; and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Gary Petty; sister, Vickie Diaz; grandparents, Dorothy Lehr and Jack & Peggy Stansberry.

A funeral service celebrating LeAnne's life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 17, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Mark Arnett of the Pilgrim Holiness Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
