Obituary

Lauretta M. McCullough, age 71 of Frankfort and formerly of the Walnut Grove community, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at I.U. Health – Arnett Hospital in Lafayette following a very sudden illness.  She was born October 27, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Donald E. and Demmie-Ree (Smith) Carpenter.  Lauretta worked as a Bank Auditor for Famers Bank in Frankfort for 15 years.  She also formerly worked at Fallen Timber Daycare Center in Ohio and Gettingsville Presbyterian Daycare and Nursery School.  Lauretta was a 1964 graduate of Walnut Grove High School and later graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology and child development.  She married the love of her life, David G. McCullough on May 21, 1972, and they shared 46 years of marriage together.  Lauretta was a member of Gettingsville Presbyterian Church, and also attended Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church.  She was a member of the Master Gardener Club and the 49ers Home Extension Club.  Lauretta loved to be outside - gardening, hiking, and traveling to many state parks with her husband.  She also enjoyed reading.  More than anything, Lauretta will be remembered for her love of her family and friends.

Lauretta's family includes her husband of 46 years, David G. McCullough of Frankfort and many extended family members and good friends.  Lauretta was preceded in death by both of her parents.

A graveside funeral service celebrating Lauretta's life will be conducted at 11:30 am on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Aroma Cemetery in rural Atlanta with Lay Pastor Donna Enersen of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Frankfort Salvation Army, Kokomo Rescue Mission, or the Walnut Grove Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
