Larry B. Noble, age 76 of Indianapolis and formerly of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at University Heights Health and Living Center in Indianapolis following lengthy health issues. He was born December 16, 1939 in rural Elwood, the son of Ebert and Georgia (Moorman) Noble. Larry was an Elementary School Teacher at Fishers Elementary School for over 20 years, and retired in 2001. He was a 1957 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School, and later graduated with a Master's Degree in elementary education from Ball State University in Muncie. Larry was a former member of Harmony Christian Church in Leisure earlier in his life, and was currently a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association. He enjoyed antiques, auctions, and traveling all over rural Indiana after his retirement; and especially like dining at various restaurants with friends and family. More than anything, Larry had a passion for children (through his teaching) and animals who needed a home.
Larry's living family includes a brother, Fred Tyner of Elwood; two cousins, Myron (wife Zola) Noble of Anderson and Kelton Noble of Elwood; beloved dogs, Cody and Symba; and other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Byrona Sue Noble; paternal grandparents, Samuel & Blanch (Hinds) Noble; maternal grandparents, Chuza Olen & Mary Ellen (Francis) Moorman; Aunt and Uncle, Audrea (Noble & Howard Hiatt, Uncle and Aunt, Ethod & Winona (Butler) Noble; and Aunts, Alta (Moorman) Weismiller, Melva (Moorman) Trimble, Jessie (Moorman) Neeley, and Ada (Moorman) Mitchel.
Funeral services celebrating Larry's life will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Ron Meyer of Harmony Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Knox Chapel Cemetery at Point Isabel. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the funeral on Saturday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
