Obituary

Larry M. Lee , age 85 of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Elwood Health & Living following an extended illness.  He was born Jan. 13, 1940 in Tipton County, the son of Dova and Loretta (Phifer) Lee.  Larry was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson High School near Goldsmith.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962.  Larry retired in 1992 from Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo after working in production for 30 years.  He married Karen Heflin on Jan. 30, 1993, and they spent over 32 years of marriage together.  Larry was a member of the U.A.W. #685 in Kokomo.  He enjoyed playing cards with his friends in Tipton, hunting, fishing, dancing, and bird watching.  Larry was a longtime fan of I.U. Basketball and the Los Angeles Dodgers.  He will be remembered as a very loving husband who was an outstanding provider for his family.

Larry's family includes wife, Karen Lee of Elwood; brother, Tim (Joe Marie) Lee of Michigantown; 3 brothers in-law, Bob Drummond of Tennessee, Bob Hartman of Nevada, and Richard Heflin of Elwood; sister-in-law, Beverly (Bill) Steen of Tipton; and several nieces and nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Donna Lee; mother-in-law, Florence Heflin; sister, Carolyn Drummond; and sister-in-law, Judy Hartman.

A graveside service celebrating Larry's life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Tetersburg Cemetery in Tipton County with Pastor Scott Blaylock of Life Church officiating.  Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the U.S. Navy and Tipton American Legion honor guard.  Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
