Larry J. Large , age 79 of Frankton, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Marion General Hospital in Marion following a brief illness.  He was born December 23, 1942 in Knightstown, the son of Lee and Mary (Russell) Large.  Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea.  Larry worked for Elwood Community School Corporation for 30 years in maintenance at the high school and later at John Hinds Vocational School at the end of his career before retiring in 2006.  He was a member of the Frankton American Legion.  Larry enjoyed fishing, tinkering and fixing all sorts of things, and taking trips to see family members out of state.  He was a hard working person who enjoyed a simple life.

Larry's family includes 4 children, Stephanie Large of Williamsburg, VA, Christopher Large of Frankton, William "Billy" Large of Frankton, and Laura Steele of Pensacola, FL; sister, Anna Jean Perry of Anderson; former spouse, Patricia Anderson of Penville; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings, Ilene Manlove, Judy Miller, Everett "Bill" Large, and Ralph Large.

Larry's wishes were to be cremated.  A graveside service and burial will take place at a later date in the Knightstown Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Frankton American Legion.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
