Obituary

Larry G. Clouser, age 80 of Windfall, died January 1, 2015 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton following an extended illness. He was born June 16, 1934 in Elwood, the son of Donald E. and Lela Mae (Jackson) Clouser. Larry was self-employed as a farmer in Tipton County for more than 47 years and retired in 1999. He married Barbara E. Bryant on September 17, 1955 and they shared more than 59 years of marriage together. He was a devoted member of Hobb's Christian Church. Larry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Tipton Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Tipton Elks Lodge #1012, and Tipton County Livestock Breeders Association. Larry also served on the Tipton Community School Board from 1972 -1980 and the Board of Directors of Farmer's Mutual Insurance Company from 1986-2014. In his youth, Larry was a 10 year member of 4-H, and also formerly raised hogs and dairy cows. He loved all animals and was well-known for taking in stray dogs who would wander onto the family farm. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports - especially the Indianapolis Colts. More than anything, he was very family-oriented and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Larry's family includes his wife of more than 59 years, Barbara E. (Bryant) Clouser of Windfall; daughter, Lu Ann Clouser of Kokomo; 2 sons, Kent (wife Angie) Clouser Windfall and Kyle (wife Laura) Clouser of Tipton; and 4 grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Ethan and Ava. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
