Lance E. Sheedy, age 39 of Peru and formerly of Curtisville, passed away early Friday, September 16, 2016 at his mother's home in Tipton surrounded by his family following a formidable battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 27, 1977 in Tipton the son of Terry L. and Rose Mary (Beyer) Sheedy. He was self-employed as a retail vendor at the Bunker Hill Flea Market for the past 6 years where he enjoyed selling a variety of items. Lance was a 1995 graduate of Tri-Central High School and later attended Vincennes University where he was active in the Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood. Lance enjoyed gaming, fishing, and spending time outdoors. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family, his fraternity brothers, and his beloved cats. He will be greatly missed by all the lives that he touched.
Lance's family includes his mother, Rose Mary Sheedy of Tipton; twin sisters, Casey E. Sheedy (companion Abbey Ross) both of Hobbs, and Megan E. (husband Lynn) Edens of Elwood; 4 nieces, Carissa Schambers, Mea Schambers, Aleah Schambers, and Lynnzee Edens; and a nephew, Trey Edens.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry L. Sheedy in 2005; paternal grandparents, George and Verla Sheedy; and maternal grandparents, John and Betty Beyer.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. A funeral celebrating Lance's life will be conducted on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home with Father Dan Duff of St. Joseph Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Humane Society or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) through the funeral home.
