Kyle "Kit" E. Frazier , age 81 of Elwood, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at his home following a brief illness. He was born Dec. 17, 1943 in Elwood, the son of James W. and Ruby I. (Cooper) Frazier. Kit was a 1963 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School, and following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy from 1964 to 1968 and earned the distinguished title of Golden Shellback. Kit retired from Dana Corporation in Marion after working as a machinist for 30 years. He married Margaret Parker on March 28, 1971 and they shared over 53 years of marriage together. Kit was a hard worker and was a great provider for his family. Not only did he work at Dana Corporation, but over the years he also managed a filling station, "Deep Rock" from 1971-1974, owned a local bar in Elwood, "The Watering Hole" for 5 years, and owned a liquor store "Kit's Brown Bag" for over 10 years. Kit never met a stranger and was always friendly to everyone. He was also a member of the American Legion, and a former member of the Vintage Rollers in Elwood. Kit will be remembered as loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Kit's family includes his wife, Margaret Frazier of Elwood; 2 children, Angie (Steve) Corbett of Elwood, and Chad (April) Frazier of Colorado; 2 grandchildren, Gage Corbett, and Ayden Corbett; brothers-in-law, Jack (Leslie) Parker of Elwood, Paul Parker (Judy Hayden) of Elwood, and Wendell Wilson of Elwood; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Tony) Henn of Elwood, Jeff Compton of Lafayette, Wendy (Scott) Morris of Elwood, and James (Samantha) Frazier of Lapel; and numerous extended family members and friends. Kit was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Victor Frazier, and Jeffery Frazier; and 2 sisters, Ardith Kay Johnson, and Sherry McPhearson.
Kit's wishes were to be cremated and have no formal services. Kit's family will have a celebration of life from 5 - 8 pm on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Birch Bayh Community Center in Elwood. Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood is honored to handle Kit's arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Vintage Rollers through the funeral home.
