Kim Ann Stewart , age 67 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital after numerous health challenges. She was born Aug. 19, 1957 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Eula Mae (Arnold) Albers. Kim was a 1975 graduate of Elwood Community High School. She married her soulmate, Bradford L. Stewart on Aug. 12, 1977, and they shared over 48 years of marriage together. Kim worked in Medical administration all of her professional career, working at several medical facilities in Westfield, Carmel, Fishers, and finally Kokomo.
Kim was known for always having a smile on her face. She was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Elwood and became a leader in various roles with Heartland Great Banquet in Hamilton County and at East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood. Kim was a devoted Christian who practiced her faith every day and loved her church family. She also loved animals, and especially enjoyed time with her beloved dog, "Sampson". More than anything, Kim loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a truly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will never be forgotten.
Kim's family legacy includes her husband, Brad Stewart of Elwood; two children, Brandon Stewart of Austin, TX and Andrea Stewart (Katherine Byerly) of Indianapolis; 3 siblings, Frank (Valerie) Mize of Muncie, Deanna (John) Alvey of Richmond, and Karen Blankenship of Westfield; two grandchildren, Jackson and Wesley Stewart; and several nieces and nephews. Kim was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Donald Plake, Jr.
Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life service will take place in the future. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heartland Great Banquet through the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
