Kenneth W.
Wills
Mar 25, 1953 — Jan 20, 2017
Kenneth W. Wills, age 63 of Elwood, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis following heart complications. He was born on March 25, 1953 in Lexington, KY, the son of Woodrow B. and Irene (Woolums) Wills. Ken was a 1971 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. He worked most of his life in record sales, employed by Harmony House Records and also Music Plus Records. He had also worked at Marsh Supermarket in Elwood and Whole Foods in Bloomington. Ken was fortunate to have lived in several areas during his career including Hollywood, CA, Denver, CO, Gross Pointe, MI, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Bloomington, IN, and Santa Fe, NM. He absolutely loved and was exceptionally knowledgeable about music; enjoyed downloading and mixing music; and produced hundreds of CD's for himself and others. Ken was an avid I.U. basketball fan and March Madness; loved cooking; was a history enthusiast; and had a memorable and dry sense of humor right up until the end of his life. More than anything, Ken was always very independent but always stayed connected with his siblings and their families. He will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends.
Ken is survived by 5 siblings, Sherry (husband Paul) Rice of Tavares, FL, Ulane (husband Phil) Holliday of Apopka, FL, Angie (husband Rod) Murray of Elwood, Dee Bourff of Elwood, and Dave (wife Tiffany) Wills of Fishers; 14 nieces and nephews, Paul, Matt, Chris, John, Kim, Jason, Devin, Jacob, Jared, Cheryl, Ashley, Nate, Myah, and Andrew; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Orville & Ethel Woolums and Eliza Wills.
Ken's wish was to be cremated. A life celebration gathering will be held privately by his family at a later day, and burial of his remains will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery near his parents. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Morrisett Center Food Pantry in Elwood. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
