Keith A. “Skip” McCool, age 60 of Naples, Florida and formerly of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly at his home following a sudden illness. He was born May 7, 1966 in Elwood the son of Paul D. and Linda L. (Morris) McCool. Keith formerly worked at Ball State University as a supervisor of the printing department for over 30 years before retiring in 2017. Keith was a 1984 graduate of Elwood Community High School where he ran Cross Country and Track. He was a member of the National Honor Society and DECA Vocational Program where he learned printing skills from Mr. Don Fortner which enabled him to go straight into the workforce as a print press operator. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, enjoyed IU sports, and recently liked watching Indiana Fever games. Keith enjoyed running in general; occasionally ran in several marathons and triathlons; and in past years cycled long courses in Indiana and Tennessee. He looked for any reason to be outdoors, loved fishing, and especially enjoyed hunting with his cousin, Terry Morris. Keith will be remembered as a quiet person who enjoyed a simple life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
