Kay Tiffany (Bolinger) Bohlander, age 53 of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. She was born on March 11, 1963 in Marion, the daughter of Keith A. and Marilyn S. (Buller) Bolinger. Kay worked as an administrative assistant for the Indiana Brotherhood of Electrical Workers office in Kokomo for 12 years and was missed tremendously by the electricians of the IBEW local 873. Kay graduated Cum Laude from Eastern High School in 1981. She formerly worked at her family's business, Bolinger Brothers Manufacturing, in Windfall from 1981 to 1991 and also worked as an administrator at Pierce Grain Co. in Windfall from 1991 to 2005. Kay married Keith E. Bohlander on February 5, 2016 after sharing more than 15 years together. She attended Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton with Keith and his family. Kay will always be remembered as someone who was willing to help others. She had a great love for animals - especially horses. She and Keith enjoyed trail riding and loved spending time with their horses. She will be greatly missed by her family and her friends.
Kay's family includes her husband Keith E. Bohlander of Elwood; parents, Keith A. and Marilyn S. Bolinger of Greentown; 3 step-children, Justin (wife Kasey) Bohlander of Alexandria, Jared (fiance' Arenna) Bohlander of Texas, and Jessie (husband Daniel) Maynard of Pendleton; 4 siblings, Cindy A. Bolinger of Kokomo, Gina (husband Darrin) VanSickle of Michigan, Kelly Bolinger of Kokomo, and David Bolinger of Kokomo; 2 step-grandchildren, Olivia Bohlander and Finlee Maynard; mother-in-law, Marge Bohlander of Elwood and many other extended family members of the Bohlander family; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and beloved dog, "Senator". Kay was preceded in death by a brother, Brian A. Bolinger.
A funeral service celebrating Kay's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Emanuel Lutheran Church – 1385 South Main Street, Tipton with Rev. Robb Roloff officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 7 PM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Madison County Humane Society or Emanuel Lutheran Church through the funeral home.
