Karen M. Sigler, age 51 of Elwood, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, July 2, 2018 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood with her family at her bedside following a courageous 6-year battle with cancer.  She was born January 31, 1967 in Anderson, the daughter of Larry T. Hutchison and Patricia A. Bivens.  Karen attended Madison Heights High School in the class of 1985, and was raised in Grace Baptist Church in Anderson as a young person.  She married her husband, Michael "Shane" Sigler in November of 1991, and they shared over 26 years of marriage together.  Karen enjoyed painting, coloring, photography & pictures.  She had a lifelong dream to visit Niagra Falls, and her family hopes to make that happen.  As a young person, she had several memorable vacation trips to Florida and California.  More than anything, Karen loved and protected all her family.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her very much.

Karen's family legacy includes her husband, Michael "Shane" Sigler of Elwood; mother, Patricia Bivens (companion Homer Carmer) of Elwood; 2 sons, David King of Elwood and Derek Hutchison of Terre Haute; 5 sisters, Stephanie (husband Lewis) Large of Texas, Misty Deavers (Brandon Maddux) of Noblesville, Rachel (husband Chuck) Berryman of Alexandria, Rebecca (husband James) Roark of Kentucky, and Shelly Yanke of Michigan City; 4 brothers, Shawn Hutchison of Michigan City, Patrick (wife Kim) Hutchison of Florida, Steve Whittaker of Elwood, and Robbie Weaver (Hayley Merrill) of Anderson; uncle, Kevin Allen; 3 uncles; 3 aunts; 15 nephews; 8 nieces; special brothers-in-law, Terry & Diane Sigler and Larry Sigler, Jr.; and several great nieces, and great nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Larry Hutchison; and grandparents, William & Althene Allen, Theodore Harper, and Paul & Neda Bivens.

Cremation will take place, and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Homer's residence, 5478 West 200 North, Anderson, IN 46011 with Elder Michael Robeton officiating.  There will be a lunch to follow the service.  There will also be a gathering for coffee and donuts on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Callaway Park in Elwood at 2:00 PM.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home has been entrusted to care for the Sigler family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family.  Online condolences to the family may be expressed at copherfeslermay.com.
