Karen Anita Miller, age 68 of Elwood passed away peacefully on October 16, 2015 at Community Hospital in Anderson following extended health complications. She was born October 23, 1946 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Roy and Irene (Beckett) Kleyla. Karen formerly worked as a nurse's aide and a laundry processor at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton and at the Arcadia Children's Home for several years. She was a 1965 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and was formerly a member of the Central Wesleyan Church in Elwood. Karen is also remembered for working as a cook for Hoadley's Restaurant in Alexandria and the East Star Inn restaurant in Elwood. She loved children and animals.
Karen's family includes her former husband and longtime companion, Clark W. Miller of Elwood; brother-in-law, Paul Miller of Elwood; sister-in-law, Linda Moss of Tipton; nephew, Willard (wife Candy) Miller of Elwood; and 2 nieces, Grace Robinson and Lisa Spencer both of Elwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt, Bessie Samuels.
