June Anne Fisher, age 90, of Tipton and formerly of Aroma, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton after an extended illness. She was born June 4, 1922 in Elwood, the daughter of Ernest and Carrie (Cox) Allen. June Anne retired from Security Bank in 1970, where she worked as a bookkeeper for more than 10 years. She had previously worked at Delco Remy in Anderson for several years. She married Vernon Paul Floyd on September 21, 1946. Following his death, she later married Floyd W. Fisher on December 5, 1959. She was a life-long member of the Aroma United Methodist Church, where she served as church treasurer for many years. June Anne was a caregiver to many of her friends and family members. She was a devoted homemaker, enjoyed reading, and was formerly an active member of the United Methodist Women and the Literati Club.
Her family includes a son, Alan P. (wife Pamela) Floyd of Elwood; 3 grandchildren, Justin P. (wife Amanda) Floyd of Noblesville, Ty Wittkamper of Elwood, and Aron (wife Becky) Wittkamper of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; 2 great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Cooper Wittkamper of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; nephew, Larry (wife Linda) Canaday; and 2 great-nephews, Nathan Canaday and Brett (wife Tia) Canaday.
June Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Vernon P. Floyd who died April 23, 1954; her second husband, Floyd Fisher who died February 16, 1997; and her sister, Millicent Canaday.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Aroma United Methodist Church in Atlanta with Rev. Dick Judson officiating. Burial will follow in the Aroma Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
