Judith J. "Judy" (Kilgore) Gillam, age 75, a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following a brief illness. She was born February 5, 1938 in Elwood, the daughter of Milo "Mike" and Dorothy M. (Moore) Kilgore. She worked for 40 years as a commercial lines underwriter for General Accident Insurance Company in Indianapolis. Judy was a 1956 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood and also attended Ball State Teachers College in Muncie. She was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood for many years. Judy married Wilbern "Gil" Gillam November 10, 1973, and they shared 10 years of marriage together before his passing in 1983. She was a former member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority in Indianapolis. Judy enjoyed reading; working puzzles; and especially loved watching her niece's and nephew's sporting events. She was also an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts.

Judy's surviving family includes 4 sisters, Cathy (Phil) Odgen of Elwood, Carol Hudson of Frankton, Janet Stover of Elwood, and MaryEllen (Curt) Whitson of Elwood; 9 nieces and nephews, Susan (Larry) Hill, Michael (Cheryl) Ogden, Brad Compton (Fiancé Christy) , Brent (Jennifer) Compton, Angela (Scott) Weins, Clint (Jen) Whitson, Clayton (Julia) Whitson, Lynzy Stover, and Kelsey Whitson; 12 great nieces & nephews; and a great-great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wilbern "Gil" Gillam.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Bill Johnston of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 3 to 7 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
