Judith L. Boruff, age 81 of Elwood, passed away early Monday, December 11, 2017 at her home following an extended illness.  She was born on May 20, 1936 in Elwood, the daughter of Joseph Walter and Naomi (Smith) Hardebeck.  Judy was a homemaker all of her life, and was dedicated to caring for her family.  She attended Elwood Community Schools, and married James H. Boruff on April 6, 1953.  They shared over 64 years of marriage together.  Judy formerly attended Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood when she was younger.  She and her family had many memorable camping trips through the years.  She especially enjoyed oil painting, sewing, and playing cards with her friends.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Judy's family legacy includes her husband, James H. Boruff of Elwood; 4 sons, Mike (girlfriend Julie) Boruff of Arizona, Brian (wife Shelley) Boruff of Alexandria, Roger (wife Debbie) Boruff of Elwood, and Andy (wife Joy) Boruff of Tipton; siblings, Laura Jo Parker, James Hardebeck, and Clara Mae (husband Ron) Shaw all of Elwood; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Steven Boruff in 1957; and brother-in-law, Robert Parker.

Per Judy's wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time.  Burial will take place at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park in Elwood.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home is honored to care for Judith's cremation arrangements.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence to the Boruff family may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
