Joyce A. Allen, age 70 of Elwood, died April 4, 2012 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood after an extended illness. She was born October 12, 1941 in Elwood the daughter of Albert and Pearl (VanHorn) Sullivan. She was an Emergency Medical Technician for Medistat Ambulance Service for more than 20 years. Joyce was a member of the Main Street Wesleyan Church in Elwood and a 1959 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Jennifer) Allen of Elwood; step-son, Mark Allen of Marion, AR; step-daughter, Lisa Foster of Mountain View, AR; sister, Wanda DERosier of Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Roy Wingrove of Elwood, Miracle Faith Allen of Tipton, Shaylen Marie (Ben) Geyer of Canada, Brittney LeAnn Allen of Elwood, and Rachael Allen of Elwood; and close friend Brenda Silvey of Elwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vivian Overmire; and 2 brothers, Albert Sullivan, Jr. and Orval Sullivan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Ron Becker of the Main Street Wesleyan Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Cremation will follow.
