Joseph A. "Joe" Arehart , age 73 of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at his residence following a brief illness.  He was born December 9, 1952 in Elwood the son of Harley E. and Isabelle "Louise" (Williams) Arehart.  Joe was a member of the 1972 class of Wendell L. Willkie High School.  Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1972-1975.  He worked as a roofer all of his life.  Joe also worked for 10 years in storm repair for RLI, where he would go help repair towns, businesses, and homes after major storms.  He was a lifetime member of the Elwood V.F.W. and a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing, playing poker, shooting pool, and spending time with good friends.  Joe liked to watch old westerns and his favorite movie Forrest Gump.  More than anything, Joe enjoyed life and most importantly spending it with family and friends.

Joe is survived by his significant other, Michele Becker of Elwood; bonus children, Andrew (Erin) Becker of Alexandria, Melissa (Danny) Lucero of CA, and Dillion (girlfriend Marrissa) Wolberd of Summitville; 7 grandchildren, Lilly, Nathan, Kason, Evan, and Liam; 2 nieces, Korena and Tracy; and several extended family members and friends.  Joe is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale L. Arehart; and sister, Karen.

Joe's wishes were to be cremated and have no formal services.  His family will be having a celebration of life at the Elwood V.F.W. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 starting at 5:00 pm.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood is honored to handle Joe's arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
