John R. Walker, age 54 of Windfall, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. John was born on November 23, 1957 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton. He was the son of Richard D. and Karleen (Pugh) Walker, and the grandson of the late Ray and Mary Walker and the late John and Juel Pugh.

John graduated from Tri-Central High School in 1976. He later attended Vincennes University and Indiana University at Kokomo. John was a member of the Windfall Christian Church; the Tipton Masonic Lodge; and a Past Patron of the Windfall Order of Eastern Star - now affiliated with the Sharpsville Order of Eastern Star. John was an avid supporter of athletics at Tri-Central. He loved all sports and attended them all. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys Football team, and when in Indiana - cheered on the Indianapolis Colts.

Survivors include his mother, Karleen Walker of Windfall; several cousins; and many special friends whom he worked with while dispatching at the Tipton County Sheriff's Department and the Tipton City Police Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Walker who died in 2005, and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Carl Roudebush of the Windfall Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM just prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. In lieu of flowers, John has requested donations be made to the Windfall Christian Church – P.O. Box 126, Windfall, IN 46076; the American Heart Association; or the Scholarship Funds at Tri-Central High School – 2115 W. 500 N., Sharpsville, IN 46068.
