John Lee Parker , age 50 of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Ascension-St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood following an extended illness.  He was born June 4, 1973 in Elwood, the son of Steven A. and Chun A. (Whang) Parker.  John was a 1991 graduate of Elwood Community High School.  He worked in production for ELSA in Elwood for over 25 years befored retiring in 2019.  John married Tracey L. Smith on July 7, 2012.  John was an avid bowler and bowled on numerous leagues at both Wells Lanes and Lucky Strike Lanes.  He especially enjoyed golfing, playing all types of games, and shooting pool.  John also liked to watch football and would always root for his favorite teams, the New York Giants and Tennessee Volunteers.  He almost always had music playing and that was 1980's rock.  John always loved to be around family and friends and was known for having memorable garage parties.  He will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.

John's family includes his wife, Tracey Parker of Elwood; mother, Chun Parker of Elwood; daughter, Samantha Smith of Elwood; life-long brother, Travis Smith of Elwood; life-long friends, Aaron (wife Reanna) Wildman of Champaign, IL; beloved cat, Sapphire; 8 aunts; 5 uncles; and an abundance of cousins.  John was preceded in death by his father, Steven Parker; 3 uncles; 3 special cousins; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

John's wishes were to be cremated and his family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
