John P. Gordon, age 74 of Elwood, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in Swayzee. He was born July 20, 1937 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the son of George W. and Willie E. (Reynolds) Gordon. He was a truck driver for Bunsold Trucking Company in Ft. Wayne for many years, and retired from there in 1997.

Survivors include 5 children, Sandra (husband Randy) Amick of Detroit, MI; Joey (wife Jody) Gordon of Elwood, Tina Gordon of Florida, Scott Gordon of Elwood, and Mike Gordon of Elwood; brother, James Richard "Rick" Gordon of Wabash; 2 sisters, Marie Weaver of Elwood and Mary (husband Stan) Gainer of Monticello; 9 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandy Gordon of Elwood; special nephew, John Weaver of Alexandria; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jackie Gordon; and a brother, George E. (Richard) Gordon.
