Johanna A. (Fettig) Biltz, age 98 of Tipton and formerly a lifelong resident of Elwood, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton after a brief illness. She was born April 23, 1913 in Elwood, the daughter of Benedict and Lenora (Kramer) Fettig. Johanna formerly worked at Fettig's Canning Factory in Elwood as a Testing Technician and was also a Homemaker. She graduated from the Loretto-Woodlawn Academy Girls School in Chicago. Johanna married Marion A. "Dutch" Biltz on October 28, 1937. She was a life member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the National Council of Catholic Women. She was also formerly an active member and past-president of the Landon Guild of St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood. Johanna was a founding member of the Sigma Theta Rho Sorority in Chicago.
Survivors include son, Joseph Biltz of Indianapolis; daughter, Carol (husband Frank) Kräck of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Emily Kräck of Indianapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion A "Dutch" Biltz who died in 2000;

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Joseph Church in Elwood with Father Alejandro Paternoster officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 PM Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. A rosary service will be conducted at 5:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church through the funeral home.
