Joanne Lippott, age 94 of Noblesville and formerly a long-time resident of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a long, well-lived life. She was born May 17, 1922 in Summitville, the daughter of George and Hazel (Clymer) Vinson. Joanne worked as a bank teller all her life, retiring at the age of 85 from Star Financial Bank in Elwood. She also formerly worked at First Federal Bank and First National Bank both in Elwood. Joanne was a 1940 graduate of Elwood High School, and also completed courses at Fort Wayne Business College. She married Clarence L. Lippott on March 18, 1944, and they shared more than 65 years of marriage together. She was a member of East Main Street Christian Church where she was once active in the seniors Sunday school class; and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and Delta Theta Tau Sorority. She enjoyed playing bridge, baking, and especially enjoyed spending the winter months in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida for many years with her husband.
Joanne's family includes her son Mark (wife Jody) Lippott of Noblesville; 2 grandchildren, Cody (wife Brandie) Lippott of Noblesville and Kyle (wife Daphne) Lippott of Noblesville; 3 great-grandchildren, Hailie Johnson, Jackson Lippott, and Bentley Lippott; brother, Jay (wife Ellen) Vinson of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of more than 65 years, Clarence L. Lippott who died in 2009; and 2 sisters, Florence Havens and Alice Ensley.
A Funeral Service celebrating Joanne's life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Vinson Cemetery in Summitville. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 prior to the funeral service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
