Joan Lynn Wright , age 67 of Tulsa, Oklahoma and formerly of Indiana, passed away on July 21, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa following many years of health challenges.  She was born August 30, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Russell A. and Gladys Norene (Lockhart) Himmelrick.  Following high school, she attended college for two years.  As a teenager, Joan was in a local band for which she played guitar, sang, and wrote music.  She was very artistic and was an exceptional painter.  Joan especially liked to play card games, build puzzles, and when she was young - she would play poker and always win.  She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, cleaning, and reading her Bible.  As a resident in the nursing home, she would read the Bible daily to her blind roommate, and others would come to her room to listen to scripture.  Joan always loved children, and would make up the most adorable stories to tell the children in the family.  Although Joan was incredibly, shy she was able to overcome those struggles later in her life, ans she become quite a social butterfly.

Joan's surviving family includes a daughter, Angela "Joy" (husband Kevin) Fortner of Tulsa, OK; sister, carol McDonald of Indiana; 4 nieces; and 2 nephews.  She was preceded in death by both her parents and a brother, Russell J. Himmelrick.
