Obituary

Jerry W. Jordan, age 77 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following multiple health complications. He was born on March 21, 1940 in Elwood, the son of Clarence and Opal (Weaver) Jordan. Jerry was formerly a regional Vice-President of operations at Wickes Lumber Company throughout the United States. He later was a real estate agent, broker, and sales manager at Bill Brodgon Real Estate in Elwood for 23 years, and retired in 2014. Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and later attended Indiana University to earn a Bachelor's degree in business. He was an avid fan of all things related to I.U. and the Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoyed playing golf and especially enjoyed helping his nieces and nephews with their 4-H livestock. More than anything, Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and will always be remembered as someone who was a friend to everyone. He was always willing to help other people, and did everything possible to creatively close real estate sales.

Jerry's family includes his sister, Pauline Jordan of Benson, AZ; 5 nieces and nephews, Kelly (husband Ron) Rush of Elwood, Amy Jordan-Wigley (husband Steven Wigley, deceased) of Elwood, Kyle (wife Crystal) Jordan of Elwood, Rob (wife Laura) Jordan of Tipton, and Michele Jordan (companion James Tragesser) of Tipton; 7 great-nephews, Mike, Tony, Ryan, Chrys, Lyncoln, Wyatt, and Dylan; 6 great-nieces, LeAnn, Melissa, Sandy, Macy, Brittanie, and Jessica; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Ray Watson of Noblesville; sister-in-law, Donna Jordan of Tipton; and special cousin, Janet Sue Wilzbacher. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Jimmy L. (and wife Sandy) Jordan, and Ray Jordan; and his best friend Bill Brogdon.
